Al Romaine, L.Ac.

Al Romaine, L.Ac.Al Romaine earned his Juris Doctorate at Louisiana State University. After a brief career as an attorney in Louisiana, Al spent 10 years as a wilderness counselor and then in administration at the New Dominion School in Oldtown, MD.  

In 2011, while researching to find a treatment for his father who was suffering from severe Idiopathic Neuropathy, Al was introduced to the practice of acupuncture. He realized that this was a method of helping people both physically and emotionally. He enrolled at the Maryland University of Integrative Health in Columbia, MD where he received his Masters of Acupuncture.  

Al has dedicated himself to learning the most advanced systems of Chinese Medicine. He has studied with some of the most successful clinicians in the United States. He is known for the successful treatment of various stress related disorders including but not limited to: headaches, sinus trouble, fatigue, shoulder pain, neck pain, lower back pain, anxiety and digestive difficulty.  His specialty is helping patients with fibromyalgia and similar autoimmune disorders.

Maggie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) with13 years of experience practicing in Western Maryland. While working as a florist in Cumberland, MD, she was moved by the thoughtful, practical help her family received from hospital Social Workers during her father’s last illness. A few years later she entered the Social Work program at Frostburg State University. It wasn’t long before she realized psychotherapy was her best fit as a helping professional.

Since earning her Masters of Social Work degree from West Virginia University, she’s practiced at agencies in Western Maryland and is pleased to be starting her private practice at Mountain Maryland Wellness. Maggie works with clients over the age of 18. Her practice focuses on the treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. She prioritizes her clients’ comfort and works to create a calm, inviting, relaxing space for therapy. Among the tools she utilizes is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help clients with PTSD and other anxiety disorders.
